Dinner 101

One of our goals for 2012 is to eat out less, which means we have to cook!
...let me make this clear, I DO NOT COOK!!! So since I do not want my family to starve,
I have been learning to cook, well to throw stuff into a crock pot and forget it.

This has become one of our favorite go-to quick recipes which I discovered online.
My only mod is that I use Cream of Mushroom Soup.

Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings

Prep Time:
10 Min

Cook Time:
6 Hrs

Ready In:
6 Hrs 10 Min

Ingredients
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons butter
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 onion, finely diced
2 (10 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough, torn into pieces
Directions

Place the chicken, butter, soup, and onion in a slow cooker, and fill with enough water to cover.
Cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours on High. About 30 minutes before serving, place the torn biscuit dough in the slow cooker. Cook until the dough is no longer raw in the center.

Happy New Year! Out with the old and in with the new!

This year for me will be a Holy Year- I will be more intentional in my daily devotions, attendance to sunday services, focusing our family towards service, prayers with EJ nightly, turning to God first!

This will be a Healthy Year- I will once again participate in the Avenue of the Giants 1/2 Marathon. I will once again been participating in the EA Active 30day Challenge. Once EJ goes to bed at 8pm only then will I will watch Days and use the eliptical, I will be in bed with lights out by 10pm.

This will be a Happy Year- From intentionally surrounding myself with positive people, focusing my crafting to specific projects, and working/challenging ourselves to become debt free. Slowing down and enjoying a novel, and I will be taking pleasure in simple things.

My resolutions are simple:

1. work my way through the bible in a year

2. FPU baby steps 1 and 2

3. post every sunday night on this blog (yes i already failed)

4. be more active- train for a 1/2 marathon

5. keep positive, remember who and what actually matters!!

I had someone tell me the other day

that she was jealous that I was so organized.

It made me think seriously??....

Where is the world did anyone get an idea that

I was organized, is that what I project- AWESOME

Reality is that I am the most scattered packrack

you can possibly imagine- I have decided that by

the end of the year, at least my office needs to

appear to be organized- and in the spirit of

full disclosure- I will give you a before picture

Less than $100 and more than 30 novels brandnew- I have always loved Borders, the place where I have partied like a Rockstar dressed to impress the staff of Hogwarts- (HarryPotter 5/6/7 releases). I have spent countless hours in the cozy chairs amongst the classics of the literature section knitting just one more row whiles waiting for the release of Breaking Dawn the novel, and three of the four movies- where am I going to chant with the Tweens of America at 11:58pm "we want Edward" when finally there is a release of the newest cinema installment of Stephenie Meyers finest hours? *******************************

As usual we are totally over committed and when something has to give, the blog is always the first to go- life is great we both are working full time and just putzing around the house these days.

I can't even remember the last time that I was able to consistently blog- its been way to long!!
This summer has been flying by and before you know it- the calendar will declare its Christmas!!!

I am Desperate- with a capital D- and its getting worse-

I don’t want much, just these couple of things-

Family Prayer time
I don’t want to be such a screamer
I want time to shower EVERYNIGHT!!!
I need time to KNIT!!!!!!!
Balance Budget-organized grocery shopping!
Home-made meals (family dinner)
Tidy Bathrooms
Less than two loads of laundry pending
Family Prayer time
A bedroom conducive to “loving”
An organized garage, where you can find things amongst the storage-

Ok so I have all these aspirations of a clean/neat/tidy/organized house.

Did I mention I want to be calm, serene, and loving at all times?

Then there is this thing called reality-

There are 45613247654 loads of laundry in front of the washer.

Another sixtybillion piles in our bedroom, and even more on the floor/bathroom and hallway.

So- I get a brilliant idea- I am going to clean our house top to bottom.

I buy the bottle of bleach, and container of Comet, I get all my stuff ready-

… and then EJ decides he wants to help- by organizing the DVD’s and by Organizing I mean

Pull them off the shelf and lay them on the floor.

The garage looks like a monster built of cardboard- that is going to take over- I guarantee no committee in their right mind would want me on their planning staff-

-but wait it gets worse- dinner- but to do make dinner we have to wash dishes- oh and that means we need cupboard space.

No wonder we eat out three millions days per week!!!

Toys everywhere- and I really do mean everywhere… ever tried to find “the mood” and land on a duplo?

...just a thought- this blog was started by me for me... just as a way to try and organize and download into words and the chaos in my head.

it has evolved into a book/knitting/diary/confessional blog- but now it is about to transition again, into a place for us (yup thats right, I am sharing it with mr bee.) to share pictures, thoughts, and stories about our lives as parents, friends, and luvah's..

things will be sparatic at best, but several people (gran/aunties/nana-and friends) have been on our case to post more about the boy and less about random crap! so ask and you shall receive.

this blog has now been remodled into a family blog- I still intend to share the books I am reading, the projects I am knitting, and the many random thoughts in my head- but hey just for you guys WE will also try to make it much more about the boy-and the joy we are finding in him!

Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

About the book: The Hunger Games (2008) is a young-adult science fiction novel written bySuzanne Collins. It was originally published on September 14, 2008 by Scolastic It is the first book of the Hunger Games Trilogy it introduces sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where North America once stood. This is where a powerful government working in a central city called the
Capital holds power. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual televised event where the Capitol chooses one boy and one girl from each district to fight to the death. The Hunger Games exist to demonstrate not even children are above the Capitol's power .

My Review: WOW, this book far exceeded my expectations-I was absolutely riveted!!
This book has stayed with me. I found myself haunted by the imagery, my dreams were saturated with the characters, and every conversation over the past few weeks have started with have you read the Hunger Games.

Taking place in world that revolves around the ultimate reality television show- 24 enter, only one can be the victor, there is nothing light and fluffy about this book.
I found myself rooting for Katniss, and though her naivety started to get on my nerves, her genuine heart redeemed her in my eyes.

Without wanted to spoil it for you, trust me when I say this is a page turner, and that it will leave you questioning our own society, and wondering how far we will go before we too will have Hunger Games....

Disneyland 2010: Day 6: The Final Day

Today we started out in Disneyland. We headed

first to the Winnie the Pooh ride. After that we actually

ran into Winnie and Tigger!

Then we wandered over to see Aladdin and Jasmine

Then we ran into Mary Poppins and her gang.

After that we ran into a fairy godmother!

And then we went on the King Arthur Carousel.

Then we came across some bad villains!

Then we needed some refreshments.

And a parade!

Then we got to meet some princesses!!

Then we got a photo opp with Woody.

And then it was time for the Pixar Parade!

Then we saw a show for elecTRONica

Then it was time to leave Disneyland for another year.

And then back to the condo where we packed up

and drove home!

Disneyland 2010: Day 5: Cruisin through California

Today we started out with an awsome breakfast at

Goofy's Kitchen where EJ got to enjoy a very

special birthday breakfast. He got to meet so

many of the Disney stars.

Like Pluto,

and bell,

and Mulan,

and Chip,

and Goofy,

and then Pluto and Brer Bear,

and EJ's favorite part of breakfast: The chocolate
birthday cupcake!
Then we headed over to California Adventure where
we watched the High School Musical 3 parade. Then the
big kids went on Soarin Over California, which is a
pretty cool ride.

then we went to Playhouse Disney and watched
Mickey and all of his friends throw a surprise
party for Mini's birthday. Then we got to
see the Pixar Parade again, which EJ was
totally into. After that, the big kids went to
Disneyland for a little shopping and then
back to the condo for some dinner and
some R&R!

Disneyland 2010: Day 4: The weather turns better, but the crowds stay small

Today the weather was much better,

although it was still cloudy, there was

no rain. We started out today with

some historic Disneyland memorobilia

Then EJ made a grab for Excalibur.

Then some rides.

Then it was time for a nap.

Then we saw the Pixar Parade

Then we went to see the Monsters Inc ride and

the Muppet 3D show. Then we wrapped up with

a lightsaber.

And then we went home.

Disneyland 2010: Day 3: Slogging through Disneyland

Well, today it rained...alot.

But that did not stop us from

heading into the park and meeting

a beautiful princess

Then we headed over to get the big kids some

lunch,

and EJ took a nap.

Then we met a bunch of characters

And then we went to hang out with some

more princesses.

and some fairies

Then we looked at shiny stuff in stores for a while,

and then went to dinner at Ariel's Grotto and

watched the World of Color show, which was

absolutely amazing!

Disneyland 2010: Day 2: First day in the park

This morning we stayed in the condo for a while

relaxing with some fresh brewed coffee.

Then we headed over to Disneyland

for our first day in the park itself!

We ran into a few characters

right after coming in the gate

After talking to Gepetto and Chip

we traveled on to Tomorrowland

and caught the Jedi Training show

while we ate some lunch

Then onto Toontown where EJ enjoyed himself thoroughly!

And visited Micky at his house

Then we decided to test EJ's bravery and take him on

Pirates of the Caribbean, and he fell asleep about 1/2

way through! After that we putzed around and

looked at all the stores until it was time for the

evening parade. After that, back to the condo to relax

Disneyland 2010: day 1: We Made It!

Well after leaving Petaluma at 4 in the morning and an exhausting

7 and 1/2 hour drive we finally made it to Disneyland!

Fortunately I was not the one driving!

And finally we arrived at our hotel

and dropped off the car

and then headed to Downtown Disney

for some shopping and a bit of food

and then back to the hotel for some R&R

and dinner.

Setting the trend for what I hope will help me be an awesome Mom, I am planning to make EJ's halloween costume-hopefully it will turn out cool, so that we can use it for "Con" season as well... more bang for our buck if you
will ...the fabric is bought, so guess that means we are on our way making a Zaboo costume. I totally lucked out, the pattern calls for 1.3/4 yards of fabric for the tunic- the blue was $1.99/yard so I bought three just to be certain. I also purchased 1 yard of the crushed velvet red-just to add texture to the contrasting sections. and of course can't forget the gold trim.
The pattern was on sale for a mere $2 so score again. I am hoping to create the basic tunic shape as seen in the green, creating triangle slits for the red, as well as the panels of contrast that are in the original costume created by the ever so talented Sarah Trost

Ever since I saw the April Fools Lil' Guildies episode, I have been contemplating how cute it would be to dress babee up as Zaboo for halloween, then in theory husbee could go as Vork and I as Codex (just because I love her staff and rad red corset).

Ok so what am I talking about do you ask?
Have you ever heard about theguild? :

The Guild is an American comedy web series created and written by Felicia Day, who also stars as Codex. its 30mins away so I am trying to motivate myself to actually go.

I want to go because I have not been in forever,
plus I have several commissions that are due soon.
but its really hard to work up the motivation to go
because husbee is home early and
we could actually spend a little time together.
is it wrong to go out, when he is actually home at a decent hour.
I need a grown-up night, but at the same time we have not had a date in months?

well its been awhile since I have finished anything knitting related,
but due to a recent post over at The Yarniad
I have decided it is time to become a monogamous knitter....
what exactly does that mean you ask?
Well I am only allowed to start a new project after I have finished the other started ones.
I have "knit ADD" on a semi regular basis, and I regularly start a new project,at this point I probably have 9 WIPS, and over 30 intended projects that
I have already purchased the yarn for.. making this knitting thing a fairly expensive
and not a very productive hobby...However with my new found determination, I went into the recent HPKCHC challenge onMonday night 7/5 9pm determined to complete something outside the expected hat.

The challenge terms were: in 24 hours craft something as a birthday gift for someone.
So I decided to make a birthday gift for the soon to be arriving princess to my friend R.
This was a fairly quick knit, and I am really happy with the result.
New rule, only allowed to knit with yarn I already have-

I am on a yarn diet until I have 4 finished projects.

I have the most wonderful, and supportive hubby on the planet. He lets me knit, and read, and shop and blog, and watch Days of Our Lives in bed...with him.

My son is adorable, and I do not mean in the "I am the mommy, and I am biased kind of way"... I mean he is C.U.T.E. cute, he has a ton of hair, he is always smiling, and laughing, and has the most amazing blue eyes! Everyone we meet, or know thinks this is true, so must be true right?

Right now I am sitting in the backyard lounging, hubby is weeding our little garden, and EJ is squealing in delight at who knows what.

I am exactly sure when it happened, but the other day I realized something. I am HAPPY, we are talking shout it at the top of your lungs, celebrate with chocolate cake, the sun is shining and birds are singing HAPPY!!!

...when did that happen?

in the words of my youngest brother"dude that's a ton of candles"... as if I did not notice!!
-but then again thirty has not been so bad! I received many wonderful gifts from my friends and family and best of all I learned that at midnight on March 7/8 I did NOT turn into a pumpkin.

On Monday night my husband and friends had a small surprise party for me,
something I had never had before, it was pretty awesome!
Some of my gifts included (a new pair of Ice Skates), (Money to spend on YARN),
(board games), (money for Amazon), plus lots of other little things.

One of my gifts was a list from my dear friend lisa...
this list made me smile and made me cry-so I had to share:

...skating to 30!!

I have wanted to learn to ice skate since the 1992 whenI watched Kristi Yamaguchi win the Olympic Gold in Women's Figure Skating.

I have been in love with figure skating since the 6th grade when I wrote my Sport Report in Mr. Kenny's class.

I went Ice Skating for the first time on my 16th birthday. I have skated on and off for the past 15years.

....now it is time for something different, I want to spin, and twirl, and jump, and glide! I want to learn to do this for real, and I know it will take time and dedication. I want to wear the amazing costumes and glide to the music.

After speaking at length with Max, arrangements have been made for EJ and I will start group lessons on Thursday February 25th at Snoopy's Home Ice

My birthday is almost here, and so in 15 days I will be skating my way to 30!!!!!

I have recently been frustrated at my inability to finish anything via knitting... so I reevaluated my projects and decided to only work on a select few at a time.... here is what made the cut.

-I wanted to share with you my OWL proposal of the School of Fish Afghan for EJ-
Please find below:

1. Identify the pattern you will be using.
I will be knitting the Festive Fish Afghan. My friend Megan has already completed it and so will serve as a mentor when I need assistance with seaming and the crochet edge.

2. Photograph of the yarn(s)/needles/materials involved.
12 balls of My Family Baby Yarn-Size 8 Clover 6”needles each ball produces about 5 fish

3. Photograph of your swatch OR an explanation of why a swatch is not needed.
I have photographed my swatch along with my supplies.
Blue fish was size 7, yellow size 8….
I was so much happier with the result on size 8, so 8 it is!

4. Two or three sentences describing the planned crafting sequence and analyzing any areas of potential difficulty or new skills needed.
To prove my proficiency at repelling the Cruciatus Curse, I have chosen a very tedious and fairly large project! I am sure that knitting, seaming, and weaving the ends of 45-60 fish will be very fiddly… and excruciatingly painful! In addition, this afghan will be for my sons’ bedroom, making this a selfless knit for someone else. I have had this yarn on hand since before he was conceived, and so I am excited to finally give it use. I will be learning a new skill with the crochet hook, when the time comes to add the border…

Today in church Pastor Ron gave us a challenge, to memorize verses this year:

I have really been thinking about what this next year will hold for me.
I am excited to report after inspiration from this mornings closing prayer that
this year will be H-Cubed.

This year for me will be a Holy Year- I will be more intentional in my daily devotions, attendance to sunday services, and descriminating in what I expose my family too, especially when it comes to the books we read, and the programing we sit through.

This will be a Healthy Year- I have already chosen the 1/2 marathon that I will be participating in... the Avenue of the Giants (theave.org) as soon as I go back to work, and have an income again I will be registering for this event! Max and I both have been participating in the EA Active 30day Challenge (ok its only day two) but we are doing it together so that helps to have an accountability partner. I have as you already know already joined Weight Watchers with my Mom as well... I am only on day2 but I am off to a great start.

This will be a Happy Year- From intentionally surrounding myself with positive people, focusing my crafting to specific projects, and working/challenging our selves to become debt free. Slowing down and enjoying a novel, and I will be taking pleasure in simple things...

I truly belive if I can make 2010 a Holy, Healthy and Happy year- I am on the right track!!

Activity Goals: Complete a 1/2 Marathon and Run a 5K

-the people were really nice, much older then me and certainly at different stages in their lives. Points seem to be determined by your height and starting weight... and of course you age.
I think the best thing that was said, is your height and age won't go backwards, so make goals based on those things... in otherwords age appropriate activity goals are important.
for the time being the total points I am allocated per day are 27-this will change once I stop nursing, so hurrah for 5extra points at least for now!!!

The points will take a bit of getting use to, but hey at least the tracker is online.

I told Max that the key for success for me, is to pre-plan my meals and then I know exactly what I am eating!
6points for one lunch is a bit much, anyone have some quick and
easy snacks/lunch point ideas I might like??

EA Active 30Day Challenge: Day One again

Ok so we are starting over on the EA Active 30day, because Max wants to do it with me, and he will already be a day behind... I have also been looking at the EA Active 5K trainer challenge, I am planning to give that a shot one I complete my 1st 30days Challenge.

Finances: The Budget has been sent for 2010, the biggest challenge will be to curb the misc. spending... the plan for this is to pre-diccuss all purchases. Knit from my stash, and read less books... (by reading only two chapters per night, rather then reading until I finish even if that is 4am)

2010 seems to be off to a strong start.

Max got me EA Active for the Wii for Christmas-we are planning to workout together with the preprogrammed 30day Challenge. I have already done day one, just to play but will be starting over later today! My biggest challenge will be learning to drink more water, and less coffee!

This year I am turning 30-have I mentioned that? I am planning to get healthy, loose weight and eating right! Saturday will be my first Weight Watchers meeting... I am looking forward to the guidance in loosing weight, eating better, and meal planning!!

...I AM SOOOOO TIRED.... and yet here I am blogging day one SUCCESS!!!!
So.... last night we watched all six starwars movies, and I just spent the time plotting my next HPKCHC term, and knitting!!!-Max and EJ were pooped by the time they finished all 12hours of movies!!!

...hello friends, let us all scream for joy! The time has come to say farewell to 2009 and welcome to 2010! From now on to be referred to as the year of thirty!! We all know that for me 2009 was a year of exciting changes! The most exciting being the birth of our brand new baby boy! We have never been so happy in our entire lives-things are going great! Our little one has just turned 2months old, he is alert, and aware of the wonderful world around him everyday. His eyes are still a georgous slate blue, he is holding his head up...and smiles and coos when he realizes that people are paying attention to him!!!!

My immediate goals were to get married and have a baby before I turned thirty, I am in just under the wire...but guess what I did it! Next stop a degree, and credential to start teaching!!!

The year of thirty will be a year of change and hopefully the year we get out of debt.
Below I am listing each and everyone of my resolutions, no matter how personal because you friends are the only ones that I know will not judge, and that I can trust to hold me truly accountable! I will be balancing my checkbook each friday, and if it happens that we overspend, I am asking that each and everyone of you call me on it.. if I am not at church (and I know you will see me there) call me on it, and if I am caught eating cupcakes or cotton candy... please dear friends CALL ME ON IT!!! OK without further ado, below are my new years resolutions- 2010 is the year of thirty!!!

Hello Professor,

I am requesting to do an OWL in Muggle Studies for Slytherin

1. Identify the pattern you will be using (original designs encouraged).

I will be knitting the February Lady Sweater (this is my first sweater effort, as my one other has been a HUGE failures…see project file)

2. Photograph of the yarn(s)/needles/materials involved.

I will be using Red Heart Soft Yarn in Dark Leaf (House Colors) and will be going button shopping as a reward once I get at least 25% into this project. I am excited because the yarn was on sale at Michael’s 2/$5. I have purchased 4skeins, for approximately 1000yards

I now have reason to break-in my brand new circulars from KnitPicks, that I recently received for my 1st anniversary, sizes 4-13 as well I new size8 dpn’s

3. Two or three sentences describing the planned crafting sequence and analyzing any areas of potential difficulty or new skills needed.

As this is my first sweater, I have hooked up with a fellow housemate to knit along with, as well as enlisted the assistance of my mother (she just does not know it yet). My goal is to have this completed to wear post baby-for Christmas… I am due 10/24 This pattern will be a challenge for me as it includes both a lace pattern, reading a pattern, shaping, and blocking (all skills I have yet to master…far from it even)

4. Photograph of your swatch OR an explanation of why a swatch is not needed. I have photographed my swatch along with my supplies.

Please note that after two attempts I was able to knit to gauge, as well as a practice section of the lace pattern required.

Ok well there you have it, my proposal was approved yesterday, and so will be cast on tonight.

My Goal is to just go ONE instruction at a time... and ask for help as I need it!

I have convinced Mom that she needs to knit this sweater as well, so between her and my "Big" I am pretty sure I will be able to pull this off.

4th of July started out a chilly day, but around 4ish the sun broke through and we ended up having a great time with our sibs, and niece and nephew.

This is our nephew floating between myself and my BIL Peter, my nephew is soo cute in his wetsuit fully equipped with flotation it takes away the fear, and you will find him bobbing along all parts of the pool, both shallow and deep.

My darling husband Max posing for the camera, at 6'6" he can pretty much stand flat footed at any part of the pool, in this shot I think he is actually sitting in the shallow end watching the kids play.

Amazing how much I have found I am enjoying the pool considering how much I normally hate it!

My review:
This is a great book by new author Conlan Brown.
From the very first page I was pulled in to the story and could barely put the book down to sleep.
The Firstborn is populated by characters that you learn to love and to hate for all their depth and flaws. The action is fast paced and keeps you wanting to know what will happen next as Devin, John and Hannah must learn to put aside their differences and learn to work together to stop terrorists whose only goal is to kill as many people as possible. Filled with amazing details and depth about the human character, this book reminds us that uniformity isn't always the best for us, or for eachother.

So recently I discovered these things called Copic Pens, and lets just say ADDICTIVE!!! I love these pens, even if they are $8million dollars each ;)

I already have 40plus... but there are 322 different colors, so don't worry plenty more to buy...

I joined the Copic Club at my local scrapbook store (Krazy Kreations in Novato, CA) and during my first class taught by certified instructors Kara and Karina I created this adorable card.

My Review:
Julie has done it again, this latest installment into the loves of the O'Conner family
is truly a can't stop until you reach the end page turner.
Taking place in the roaring twenties, Elizabeth O'Conner is all grown up, and a woman in love... both with God and John Brady (yes Collin's friend from the war). Now called Lizzie, seeking love advice from both Faith and Charity her older sisters is a recipe for disaster, and yet the results lead to a endearing love story. Giving us continued glimpses into the O'Conners while also maintaining a exciting and thrilling mystery this book left me up reading into the wee hours of the night because I just had to know how it ended. As always Julie is such a wonderful and talented writer, and her story of Lizzie' and Brady's love is a gift from God.

Every once in awhile an author comes along that has a gift, a gift that is truly given to them by God. It is with great honor that I am hosting one of my new favorite authors as my very first Author Of The Month: Julie Lessman

Bio as written by Julie: I’m Julie Lessman, an Inspirational Romance author with a passion for God and a passion for romance. Since the age of twelve, I’ve been in love with the idea of being “in love.” It happened the moment Scarlett seared Rhett with a look on the winding staircase of Twelve Oaks. Suddenly I was a goner, spellbound by the emotional ebb and flow of romantic relationships.
As an adult, I quickly learned that true romance is spiritual as well as physical and emotional. 1.) Why Irish Boston and am I Irish-Catholic?

Well, I actually started writing A Passion Most Pure at the age of twelve after reading Gone With the Wind and immediately knew I wanted an Irish family (a la The O'Haras). I then picked Boston because when I was twelve, I LOVED Boston Baked Beans candy as well as anything Colonial (I used to love Disney’s Swamp Fox show too).You can imagine my excitement when I finished A Passion Most Pure some 40 years later and learned that Boston was considered the heart of Irish America because of its large contingent of immigrants after the potato famine. Very cool! As far as being Irish-Catholic, I was raised Catholic and am 1/4 quarter Irish, so I don't know -- does that constitute Irish-Catholic, I hope? :)

2.) How many people ask you if the characters are based off real people???

Actually not too many, but I DO get asked if my personality is reflected in any of the three O'Connor daughters (Faith, Charity or Lizzie), and to that, I must answer ... uh, yeah, afraid so! :) For instance, Faith, the sister heroine from A Passion Most Pure, is my spiritual self while Charity, the “wicked” sister is my sensual or worldly self before I “got religion.”J In book 3, A Passion Denied, the sister heroine is Lizzie, who is a bookworm and dreamer, which is how I used to be as a child, often sneaking downstairs at night to watch forbidden romance movies on the TV when my parents were sleeping.

3.) Besides the Bible, what has been the #1 book that influenced you the most? (GWTW right??)

My Review: Julie's 2nd novel Passion Redeemed is filled with vibrant characters that we came to love as well as a few new faces, wonderful story telling and important messages. We follow Charity, Faith's younger sister as she uses all her wit and charms to get what she wants. Along the way she learns that what she wants is'nt always what she needs. Sometimes you have to make others happy, to truly realize what you want. Sometimes you have to hit bottom to before you can know who you really are.
This book resonated so much more then the first as I saw myself in the pages, and found it difficult to move on without shedding tears. This book, like the first is a class act. Thank you Julie, you did it again!!!!!!

Tina is a member of the bookclub and decided that I would be a good person to review her book since it takes place in Sonoma Valley and that happens to be just where we live. I am excited to share this book with all of you, as well as her first novel. My Review:

Set at the cusp of America's entrance into World War I, the O'Conners; a loving Christian family of proud Irish descent experience both triumph and tribulation in their quests for love, faith and patriotism, separated from each other and their home in Boston Massachusetts while waiting out the war from the shores of Dublin, Ireland.

Earning a permanent position in my personal library, this truly was a book that I was unable to put down. This book went everywhere with me as I was unable to stop reading until the very end. Every time that I was sure I knew what would happen next, this wonderful story would take an unpredictable twist. Faith and Charity O'Conner bring to light an honest relationship between sisters as they fight, sharing a truth that while families require love this does not always mean you will like eachother.

Peppered with scripture this families love and faith in both God and eachother is woven through out a romantic tale tantalizing enought to appeal to the mainstream reader as well. This is a book where I laughed, cried and hugged the book in my arms before tearing into the sequal. Thank you Julie for such a delightful read.

Hello Friends, its that day again, Monday.Mailbox Mondays are hosted by The Printed Page.You are probably wondering what showed up in my mailbox this past week, as well as this week since I did not post so that being said: I will list both.

Melody by VC Andrews: I use to love her books back when I was in junior high, they fit perfect inside a Mathbook maybe thats why I have had to take Algebra six times... that being said I thought a little light summer reading might be fun so I ordered this one from Paperback Swap.

Your Pregnancy for the Father to Be:

this one was bought for Max but I will

probably check it out as well.... its crazy how fast

the days are ticking by until we will be parents.

We both have enjoyed the other book in this series,

so I thought this might be optimal to try out as well.

Julie has become by far one of my most favorite authors

this book arrived and I was not able to put it down,

I was finished within three days. I have started writing my

review and should have it up later this week.

Weekend Time

Yahoo it is Saturday... and I live in a small town where today is annual Butter and Eggs Day, but this year no parade for me, I'm sick :(

This is probably one the only things that I actually like about my home town, I have lived here my entire life and so by mere circumstance have marched almost every year of my childhood. Some years with Girl Scouts, some with Gymnastics, some with Popwarner Cheer, and then four horrible years with HighSchool Marching Band.
So you won't see me out there, cheering on the kids whose parents make them participate, and so course then I will not get to enjoy the impromptu high school reunion that always transpires in the streets of Petaluma. I am still thinking of you kids....Happy B&E day!

PS: Reader is still tweaking, so now i am starting to suspect the teenager who kept me company while I was home sick, which means that I am now only following the people who follow me... oh and the three blogs I knew by heart.
